Line scanner with integrated controller |
| |
According
to customers, increasingly more compact sensors are now also required
for line scanners. Innovative measurement technology company,
Micro-Epsilon, presents a new generation of line scanners. The most
important difference between the new Scancontrol 2700 and conventional
line scanners is the integrated controller. This means no other
component is required for the measured data evaluation. However, despite
this, the measuring head has very compact dimensions. This relative
small size means the scanner is ideal for use in automation systems,
where space is often restricted. Typical measurement tasks for the
Scancontrol 2700 are the measuring of profiles and the measurement of
angles, gaps and clearance. A small output module for DIN rail mounting
is required for conversion of data into common field-bus systems. Using
this, the profile data is optionally output as CAN-Bus, Profibus DP,
Ethercat or IEEE. The laser line scanner Scancontrol 2700 uses the
triangulation measurement principle for the two-dimensional acquisition
of profiles on the most varied of target surfaces. In contrast to the
familiar point laser sensors, ... |

Series DCX 16 Level Probes - Autonomous
Data Collectors with Ø 16 mm |
| |
KELLER
AG: 1.5 billion people around the globe have no access to clean
water. Managing water as a resource is therefore the challenge of the
21st century. A significant part of the world’s water resources is
located underground. Large areas are surveyed using pressure sensors to
monitor changes in the water level in relation to usage as well as
rainfall. These sensors are inserted in wells up to 200 m in depth. The
major share of the cost of a measuring point is caused by the drilling
operation and the pipe inserted into the earth. Until now, pipes with an
inner diameter of 1 inch (2,54 cm) were mainly used, required by 22 mm
diameter sensors. KELLER’s new DCX-16 features a Ø 16 mm diameter
without compromising exactness, enabling much lower per-point
installation cost. ... |

Flow-Sensor SS 20.60 HT, for high
temperature up to 350°C |
| |
SCHMIDT
Technology has developed a high temperature version of the SS 20.60
for the application in operating temperature up to 350°C - for short
time even 400°C. The sensor differs formally in the white ceramic tip.
Most of the modifications have been made inside the sensor and the
modules are designed according to the elevated specification. A complete
new designed electronic unit processes the results of measurement and
provides a digital and analog output. The new status indicator displays
information about the current flow velocity and the sensors status. The
measuring signal output of the temperature is new as well. Due to the
modular concept the sensor can be supplied with field bus interface. The
sensor with field bus interface delivers ready prepared measuring values
like Kg/hr or m³/min and thus disburdens the supervising PLC.
Additionally the sensor gives access to its status information and
allows the PLC to inform the user about defects of the sensor. ... |

Spot on: SoundPipe for zws Sensor |
| |
microsonic:
With its SoundPipe the zws-15 sensor measures levels in the smallest of
openings. The new SoundPipe can be used with each and every zws-15
sensor. It directs sound to the measuring point and thus measurements
can be taken in drill holes and openings with diameters under 3 mm.
Since the zws-15 sensor blind zone is inside the SoundPipe, measurements
can be taken directly as from the sound outlet opening. The tightly
bundled sound field is brought directly to the measuring point. A
typical field of application is measuring levels in microplate wells
which are used in medical analysis technology. The SoundPipe can be
directly positioned over the opening; this makes an exact measurement
possible. The attachment can also be used in scanning gaps of only a few
millimetres in width between two objects. ... |

A world's first 112 pressure sensors in a
single mold: |
| |
Kistler
integrates online quality assurance into a 96-cavity mold for medical
technology. Kistler Instrumente AG is currently fitting two 96-cavity
molds for the production of insulin pen components with pressure sensors
for quality assurance. Each of the 96 cavities and each of the 16
manifolds will be equipped with a sensor, such that each mold will come
with a total of 112 sensors. The objective of using mold cavity pressure
sensors in injection molding these polypropylene components is to
establish automatic 100 % quality assurance and thus to ensure
zero-defect production. With a front diameter of only 1 mm, the Type
6183A… sensors are the smallest so far used for cavity pressure
measurement. The mold maker adapts the front ends of the sensors to the
contours of the cavity wall, using erosion technology to fit both the
sensors and the mold inserts. ... |

New Family of Signal Conditioners with
Isolated Grounds and Selectable Filters Aid in Vibration Testing of
Satellites and Automotive Components |
| |
PCB
Piezotronics has introduced a new family of rack mounted signal
conditioners, available with selectable filters or isolated grounds.
These signal conditioners are best suited for applications where case
ground piezoelectric sensors are used and could potentially cause
ground-loop noise, such as during aerospace or satellite component
vibration testing, automotive component testing, product testing, drop
testing, and any general vibration testing. Model 483C30 features eight
channels with true galvanic isolation of each input to output, which is
also selectable on/off per channel. Isolation is ideal for the removal
of ground loop noise caused by sensors which are electrically on ground.
Other features in this low-noise model include choice of ICP®, charge,
or voltage inputs; multiple charge input sensitivities (0.1, 1, 10 mV/pC);
incremental gain (x0.1 to x200); internal/external calibration; 4-order
10 kHz low pass filter; and Ethernet interface, for ease of setup with
supplied software. Other frequency filters are available as options. ... |
