Latest brochure shows all HBM force
transducers at a glance |
| |
HBM’s
latest force transducer brochure is now available with full details of
every force transducer’s special features. All the force transducers for
industrial and precision applications are displayed in clear, easy to
read out tables with key selection criteria. Additional information
includes examples of the main applications for HBM force transducers in
industrial process control, material testing, and calibration. For
example, details of HBM’s latest CMC piezoelectric force measurement
chain show that it is ideally suited to applications where space is
constrained, high stiffness is required and the acquisition of fast
force trends is needed. HBM has provided a standard calibration service
for force transducers or complete force measurement chains over many
years that encompass 19 different measuring ranges from 5N to 5 MN. ... |

MLX90333 Triaxis™ 3D-Joystick Position
Sensor Recipient of Electronic Products’ 2007 Product of the Year Award |
| |
|
From the thousands of products introduced in 2007, the editors of
Electronic Products have chosen the Melexis MLX90333 as one of
the 24 most outstanding products of the year. Introduced in May of 2007,
the MLX90333 is a monolithic sensor IC featuring the Triaxis™ Hall
technology. The MLX90333 is sensitive to the 3 components of the flux
density applied to the IC (BX, BY and BZ). This allows the MLX90333 to
sense any magnet moving in its surrounding and it enables the design of
a novel generation of non-contacting joystick position sensors which are
often required for both automotive and industrial applications.
Furthermore, the capability of measuring BX, BY and BZ allows the
MLX90333 to be considered as universal non-contacting position sensor
i.e. not limited to joystick applications. Electronic Products’ editors
wrote: “The MLX90333 3-D Triaxis Hall-effect device not only promises to
change the way joysticks work, but also opens a world of new
possibilities for sensor designs. Key to this capability is the device’s
ability to detect and measure the position of a permanent magnet ... |

Machine Safety Catalog |
| |
On
just under 500 pages, the new Leuze lumiflex Catalog presents the
company’s complete product portfolio in one compact piece, detailed and
transparent – from safety sensors to safety systems, on through to
safety services. The product range covers almost every conceivable
application area of opto-electronic safety sensor systems in
manufacturing automation. The catalog highlights typical usage areas,
special features and technical data of the products, and therefore
provides an ideal aid for selecting the right solution for the right
application. The numerous connection examples, dimensional drawings and
accessory information are also valuable plus points for all interested
parties. The machine safety topic, and therefore the selection of
protective devices in accordance with the requirements of relevant
standards, is also dealt with in detail. ... |

MLX90316 Absolute Rotary Position Sensor
IC An EDN Hot 100 Products of 2007; Analog IC Category |
| |
|
Melexis is honored that EDN Magazine's editors included our
MLX90316 in their list of 2007’s 100 most significant, new electronic
products. Chosen within the analog IC category, EDN’s technical editor
Paul Rako originally reported on the MLX90316 in October of 2007 in an
article entitled Automotive Hall-effect rotary-position sensor uses
novel flux-concentrator technology. The MLX90316 is a monolithic sensor
IC featuring the Triaxis™ Hall technology. While conventional planar
Hall technology is only sensitive to the flux density applied
orthogonally to the IC surface, the Triaxis™ Hall sensor is only
sensitive to the flux density coplanar with the IC surface. With the
correct magnetic circuit, this allows the MLX90316 to decode an absolute
rotary (angular) position from 0 to 360°, enabling the design of a novel
generation of non-contacting rotary position sensors for both automotive
and industrial applications. ... |

FlexTop – Individually Configurable
Temperature Transmitter |
| |
With
the FlexTop series, Baumer’s product segment Process
Instrumentation offers configurable temperature transmitters
communicating either with a standard 4 to 20 mA output, a HART or a
Profibus PA interface. The devices are suitable for the food and
beverage industry, pharmaceutical and biological technologies, chemical
and petrochemical industry as well as for heating, ventilation and air
condition applications. The FlexTop 2201 is a low-cost Pt100 transmitter
which comes at an even more attractive price in a 30 piece packaging.
With the universal FlexTop versions 2211, 2221 and 2231, the input can
be configured for resistance thermometer as well as for thermocouples,
resistance sensors and current or voltage signals. The built-in
temperature sensor or a remote Pt100 sensor can be used to compensate
for cold junctions (CJC) if thermocouples are connected. The universal
transmitters have a galvanic isolation between

Enhanced Loop Powered Transmitter now
Intrinsically Safe |
| |
Michell
Instruments: are delighted to announce they have developed a
certified intrinsically safe version of their Easidew Transmitter. The
Easidew TX I.S. increases the already highly successful range of Easidew
dew point instruments, which includes portable and on-line hygrometers,
as well as dew point transmitters. The Easidew TX I.S. is a low cost,
rugged impedance dew-point transmitter for continuous measurement in
industrial gas applications. The Easidew TX I.S. is ATEX certified by
BASEEFA for use in hazardous areas to Ex II 1G ia IIC T4 when used with
a galvanic isolator for signal power supply connections. Easidew TX I.S.
can therefore be safely used in virtually all industrial gas measurement
applications. The certification lists five different galvanic isolators
from two different manufacturers. This allows the customer to choose the
most suitable isolator to the correct hazardous / safe area
interconnection. The new transmitter offers the customer many more new
and improved features. The modified transmitter can now be connected in
a 2-Wire loop powered or 3-Wire configuration. The Easidew TX I.S. also
features HDPE filter, designed to show contamination for service ease
which is <10um porosity and impermeable to liquids. The intrinsically
safe transmitter has ... |
