Compass inclinometer |
| |
In
addition to providing NMEA magnetic heading data, these rugged modules
from Fluxgate world also provide both pitch and roll angle up to
±45º from horizontal with a resolution of 0.1º. Expected to have several
areas of application in marine control systems, a prototype self-levelling,
radar mounting platform has already been designed around the pitch-angle
sensing function. The sensors use a floating-core fluxgate magnetometer
and incorporate the company’s patented 3rd axis sensing. The compact,
low-cost sensors components are supplied separately for manufactures or
mounted on a printed circuit board with all control electronics for
systems integrators to incorporate into their own systems. They are
available with various output options – including alarm limit set
points. They can also be supplied with various rates of viscous damping
where vibration and shock loadings may be expected to affect readings.

PerkinElmer launches newest product in
SMARTBLUE™ family of digital linear array cameras |
| |
4096
Pixel Resolution CCD Camera Delivers High Speed, Precise Imaging and
Excellent Noise Immunity for Industrial Inspection Applications.
PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in digital
imaging, sensors, and specialty lighting, announced the availability of
the new SmartBlue™ 4096 pixel Digital Linescan Camera for industrial
inspection applications. The SmartBlue 4K camera incorporates high-end
electronics, a digital interface and rugged industrial housing to meet
the needs of demanding imaging applications such as machine vision, flat
panel and web inspection. The 4K model is the latest addition to
PerkinElmer’s SmartBlue family of high-speed digital linescan cameras.
“With 4096 pixels resolution, the new SmartBlue 4K doubles the
field-of-view or spatial resolution of the imaging system as compared to
the 2K model. Now OEMs can select from PerkinElmer the CCD camera model
that best suits their needs with respect to spatial resolution and
field-of-view,“ according to Bill Kibler, Global CCD Product Leader,
PerkinElmer Optoelectronics. The SmartBlue 4K’s 80MHz pixel rate yields
line rates up to 19 kHz without compromising its superb noise immunity,
precise linearity and high charge transfer efficiency. It comes equipped
with an industry-standard CameraLinkTM digital communication interface.

Intelligent Cable Solutions for
Successful Measurement of Cavity Pressure |
| |
Successful
cavity pressure measurement in production is not just a matter of having
robust and precise sensors. The cabling system between sensors and
production monitoring systems also has a vital part to play. Cable
mix-ups lead to parts from the wrong cavities being rejected, rejects
being delivered to the customer, and data and moldings being muddled in
the documentation. A means of ruling out the possibility of mix-ups
during setting up is thus the alpha and omega of connection technology.
Multi-channel cabling from Kistler provides such a panacea by
grouping the signals of up to eight sensors in one cable from the mold
to the system! As the amount of space available for mounting is limited,
particularly in multicavity molds, multi-channel technology has to offer
compactness and ease of mounting. Multi-channel connectors from Kistler
with four (Type 1708A0) or eight (Type 1710A0) channels are only 26 mm
deep and are based on single-wire and cut and grip technology. They
allow the sensor cables to be connected and disconnected quickly and
easily without any additional tools. Single-wire technology also allows
the sensor cables to be readily cut to the required length and simply
repaired. With thermocouple amplifier Type 2205A… (dimensions HxWxD
29x53x30 mm), which is integrated directly into the mold, multi-channel
cabling is also available for combined pressure and temperature sensors.

PERKINELMER debuts new addition to
DIGIPYRO™ family for motion detection applications |
| |
New
DigiPyro™ is World’s First Digital Quad-Element Pyrodetector, Providing
Improved EMI Immunity and Built-In Temperature Reference Channel.
PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in digital
imaging, specialty lighting and optical detection technologies,
announced the introduction of the newest product in the DigiPyro family
of digital pyroelectric infrared sensors, the DigiPyro™ Triple Channel,
PYQ 2898. DigiPyro products are utilized in a range of home and
industrial motion detection applications including intrusion alarm,
motion-activated light switches, and door openers. The DigiPyro Triple
Channel, PYQ 2898 is the world’s first pyrodetector with a quad- element
design with three channels; two pairs of elements representing two
channels and an additional temperature reference channel, thereby
allowing for more information to be provided to the hosting
microprocessor. The triple channel, quad-element detector provides OEMs
with performance advantages over traditional analog pyrodetectors, such
as reduced system costs and space requirements associated with analog
circuitry. Until PerkinElmer’s introduction of the DigiPyro family,
traditional detection instrumentation relied upon analog signal
processing for motion detection applications. To process an analog
signal, these detectors require additional system components such as
amplifiers, resistors, capacitors for EMI filtering, and A/D converters
