Leister acquires Infrared Gas Sensor
Company IR Microsystems SA |
| |
|
Leister Process Technologies announced the acquisition of the
Swiss sensor company IR Microsystems SA, an innovative supplier of diode
laser based gas detection modules, to expand its activities in
micro-systems technology. This acquisition is an important milestone in
Leister’s long term growth strategy with the focus in sensors, optics
and laser technology which has been started with the creation of its
business unit Axetris Microsystems and its Novolas laser welding systems
activity. “IR Microsystems diode laser based detection technology has
great potential in the gas detection and gas monitoring market for a
wide range of gases. We found their ammonia detector to show the best
performance we have seen so far. It is an ideal extension to our
activities in the NDIR (non dispersive infrared) gas detection market
which we are currently serving with our black body IR source.” says
Thomas Hessler, Director of Leister’s Axetris Microsystems Division.
“The acquisition by Leister backs IR Microsystems SA by a highly
performing industrial partner with a long standing. In the critical
phase of product industrialization, this gives us an extremely important
leverage and is equally beneficial to our customers.” says IR
Microsystems SA Co-Founder Bert Willing. ... |

Mini Ceramic Shear Accelerometer Type
8278A… |
| |
Kistler: The
Type 8278A500sp… is a new miniature, high temperature, high impedance
single axis Accelerometer. This low mass accelerometer features low base
strain sensitivity, high shock survivability, factory replaceable cable
and integral ground isolation. The sensor construction utilizes an
annular shear Piezoceramic element and hard anodized aluminum housing
providing 10 KHz frequency response and 1,3 pC/g sensitivity. - Low base
strain sensitivity - Low mass - Wide operating temperature: –75 … 180 °C
- High, 10 000 Hz (±5 %) frequency response - Ground isolated - High
shock survivability, 10 000 g - Variable length coaxial cable available
- Factory replaceable cable. This high temperature piezoelectric
accelerometer provides measurement solutions for lightweight structures
providing minimum mass loading. The adhesively mounted accelerometer is
removed with the supplied wrench to reduce the possibility of improper
removal, potentially damaging the sensor. Integral ground isolation
provides signal integrity in electrically noisy environments as well as
eliminating ground loops which degrade signal quality. As a high
impedance accelerometer, the Type 8278A… output range is easily scaled
with external electronics. ... |

Measuring of linear and non-linear
motions: Draw Wire Position Transducer series SX |
| |
Succesfully
proven draw wire transducers from the series SX for precise positional
measuring in industrial environments from he company Waycon
Positionsmesstechnik in Germany. Precise positional measuring of
motions: with the Draw Wire Transducer series SX from the company Waycon
Positionsmesstechnik. The enorm dynamics of these sensors with a
measurement range from 1250mm – 50000mm, allow a high motion speed and
max. acceleration of the measuring target. Its high quality makes
applicatons in harsh industrial environments possible. Due to ist small
overall size, and short assembly time and ist possible customization,
the SX sensor technology is a cost-effective and flexible solution for a
wide range of industrial applications. The draw wire SX is one of many
Position transducers in the product portfolio of the company Waycon
Positionsmesstechnik. These transducers have already been successfuly
proved in many cases; for example: medical equipment (CT beds), in the
automotive and engineering industry, lifting and rescue technology and
many other applications. Waycon is a manufacturer of accurat measurment
systems and professional sensors for industry and research for all
applications in areas of position and distance measurement techniques,
level measurements and angel measurements. ... |

Temperature transmitter now configurable
to FDT standard |
| |
For
their T53 temperature transmitter, WIKA now can provide a Device
Type Manager (DTM). Thus a comprehensive configuration capability is
available for systems which support the FDT (Field Device Tool)
standard. The Device Type Manager describes the transmitter in terms of
its functionality, parameters and user interfaces. It works with the
established FDT interface systems such as Control Builder F, Fieldcare,
PACTware and Smart Vision. The DTM is available to download from the
WIKA website, www.wika.de (under "Service/Software/DTM Collection").
With the T53, WIKA can offer the automation and process industries a
universal field instrument for PROFIBUS PA and Foundation Fieldbus. The
transmitter features automatic protocol recognition and can be used for
all temperature sensors. ... |

New Temperature Conditioning Unit for
Water-Cooled Pressure Sensors |
| |
The new Kistler Type 2621E… system is used for temperature
conditioning of water-cooled pressure sensors and ensures constant
thermal conditions in the measuring element – irrespective of the
varying operating conditions of the combustion engine.
It ensures stable and reproducible measurements. It also avoids
overheating of the sensor or excessive steam condensation on the sensor
diaphragm when the engine is stopped. The new temperature conditioning
unit has a pressure control system for the cooling circuit, an
electronic flow monitoring system and a standardized monitoring/alarm
signaling system, and can be operated from a variety of wall power.
Advantages: For up to 10 sensors - Cooling circuit with pressure
regulation - Electronic flow monitoring system - Standardized
monitoring/alarm signaling system. ... |
