PiezoStar®, High Temp IEPE, Triaxial
Accelerometer Type 8766A… |
| |
The
Type 8766A… accelerometer uses Kistler’s PiezoStar shear element
design which provides wide operating frequency range and extremely low
sensitivity to temperature changes. The IEPE sensor combines PiezoStar
crystals and integral hybrid microelectronics to achieve very low
sensitivity variation over the operating temperature range, compared to
other sensing element designs. The Kistler shear element technology also
ensures high immunity to base strain errors. The accelerometer uses a
welded titanium construction for low mass and an industry standard 4-pin
connector for reliable measurements and long-term stability especially
at higher operating temperatures. The Type 8766A… provides high
measurement resolution with over 94 dB of dynamic range. ... |

New IP67 Sealed Slim line Linear
Transducer |
| |

Variohm EuroSensor has introduced a new slim line linear
transducer. This sensor has a diameter of 9.5mm, a lightweight housing,
sealed to IP67 and is available in stroke lengths from 12.5mm to 150mm.
The ELP continues to use their proven track and wiper technology, which
provides extended life expectancy, which is also able to withstand
temperatures up to 175 °C. Over the past 12-18 months they have
frequently been asked for slim line linear transducers, which are able
to withstand the harshest of environments. During this time their
engineers have had many discussions with various companies and have
listened to their concerns regarding their current designs. The ELP is
mounted using rod end bearings, which enables it to be used in a number
of applications. Variohm are also able to offer custom designed sensors
to meet your exact requirements. Their team of technical sales engineers
have many years experience and are able to solve the toughest of
applications. ... |

Melexis Collaborates with UMC to Deliver
Chips for Automobile Applications |
| |
|
Ieper, Belgium, and Hsinchu, Taiwan – Melexis (Euronext Brussels:
MELE), a leading Belgium-based manufacturer of automotive semiconductor
integrated circuits (ICs), and UMC (NYSE: UMC; TSE: 2303), a leading
global semiconductor foundry, today announced that their successful
collaboration has resulted in the delivery of chips using UMC’s 0.18um
eFlash process and eFlash macro. The ICs are aimed at diversified
automobile applications, including automotive sensors. Melexis and UMC
have been cooperating on this product for several years, and the chip is
currently being shipped to auto-module producers for assembly. Rudi De
Winter, CEO of Melexis: “Delivery of products with an embedded 0.18u
flash processor is an important step for Melexis. It allows Melexis to
fulfill the market needs for flexibility on integrated automotive
systems on a chip.” Henry Liu, Senior Vice President and head of the New
Business Development Group at UMC, said, “Shipment of chips to Melexis'
customers is a major milestone for everyone involved on this project,
and is extremely rewarding due to the highly demanding and rigorous
quality demands that characterize the automobile industry.” ... |

NEW Low Cost Cable Extension Transducer |
| |

Celesco Transducers New SP1 String Pot is available from Variohm
Holdings. The SPI is compact, economical and a durable device that
is extremely easy-to-install and has four measurement ranges; 4.75,
12.5, 25, and 50 inches. The CPI is also resistant to “free release” of
the cable without damage, a significant benefit critical to many
applications. Designed for restricted space installations, the SP1
includes a handy mounting bracket that allows the cable exit to be
selected from 4, 90-degree offset positions, making it ideal for light
industrial and many OEM applications. Users will benefit from the fact
that this device has been designed for misalignment situations wherein
the cable may be pulled out and cycled at up to 45 degree angles without
compromising life. Distinctive features of the SP1 include a
polycarbonate enclosure, an operating temperature range of -40° to
+200°F, a vibration specification of up to 10G’s to 2000 Hz maximum, and
a voltage divider output signal. Electrical specifications include an
input resistance of 10K ohm (±10%), a power rating of 2.0 watts at 70° F
and a maximum recommended input voltage of 30V (AC or DC). ... |

Melexis Infrared Thermometer wins
prestigious Electron d’Or in France |
| |
|
Yper, Belgium – Melexis was granted the famous French Electron
d’Or for its infrared thermometer sensor. The MLX90614 is the most
innovative product in the company’s infrared sensors family. Winning
this annual award confirms the benefits and ease of use of the MLX90614.
Yearly the famous French monthly electronics magazine “Electronique”
evaluates all products of the past twelve months. A jury of leading
industrial representatives indicates in conjunction with the editors of
“Electronique” the winners of the Electron d’Or in different categories.
In this year’s 10th edition Melexis infrared thermometer sensor has won
in the category “Sensors with Signal conditioning”. “Winning this
prestigious award confirms that our infrared sensor family is the best
product in the market.”, says Victor Kassovsky, Business Unit Manager
Opto Infrared at Melexis Bulgaria. “The MLX90614 is a family of digital
integrated temperature sensors. This small and cost effective
non-contact thermometer delivers a fully calibrated, digital infrared
temperature reading. An infrared sensor and a custom signal conditioning
chip are integrated in one TO-can package. We even have a version
especially designed for medical applications.” ... |
