PCB Piezotronics Debuts Dynamic Pressure
Sensor for Gasoline or Diesel Engine Combustion Monitoring |
| |

Depew, NY, USA – PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has introduced a new
dynamic pressure sensor, ideal for measuring dynamic combustion pressure
in gasoline or diesel engines. The high temperature (to +600 °F/+315 °C)
piezoelectric charge output sensor, structured with naturally stable
quartz sensing elements, is well-suited to measure rapidly-changing
pressure fluctuations over a wide amplitude and frequency range. The
un-cooled design measures pressure with low thermal shock error, and
ground isolation avoids electrical interference from electronic ignition
systems, making the sensor equally well-suited for research and
development or monitoring applications. A solid-state construction,
hermetically-sealed housing, and laser-welded flush diaphragm help
ensure durability in harsh engine testing environments. The Model 175A01
pressure sensor is available with a dynamic range to 4000 psi (275 bar),
and sensitivity of 1.5 pC/psi (21 pC/bar). Alternate models and mounting
adaptors are available for various engine types. ... |

e2v renews strategic supply agreement
with Freescale Semiconductor and announces plans to expand the agreement
to include MRAM products |
| |
|
e2v, a leading designer and manufacturer of components and sub
systems, today announced the renewal of its established agreement with
Freescale Semiconductor to develop and supply extended reliability
versions of its microprocessors. In addition, e2v and Freescale also
announced that they are exploring the expansion of their existing
relationship to include Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM)
products. This agreement builds on the long-standing relationship
between e2v and Freescale, enabling e2v to produce extended reliability
versions of their microprocessors through additional screening,
packaging and qualifications to meet military and aerospace standards.
The agreement also demonstrates e2v’s continued investment in developing
a product portfolio targeting extended reliability markets, such as
defence and aerospace. “We are delighted that our long-term agreement
with Freescale has been renewed,” said Thierry Gouvernel, General
Manager of e2v’s Broadband Data Converters, Microprocessors & Services
Business unit. “We also look forward to expanding our portfolio to
include MRAM products. They will ideally complement our microprocessor
products for embedded applications in severe environments by combining
higher speed and increased reliability compared to other non-volatile
memory solutions,” ... |

Series 684 Multi-purpose Vibration Alarm
Modules Provide Alarm & Shutdown Protection for Critical Machinery |
| |

Depew, NY, USA – The Series 684 indicator alarm module from the IMI
Sensors division of PCB Piezotronics provides an economical solution
to machine shutdown protection when increased vibration levels signify
potential failure. These modules are available in various sizes and
include up to eight channels in a single NEMA 4X enclosure. ICP® (IEPE)
piezoelectric or 4-20 mA sensors interface directly with the system,
which is universally powered and provides appropriate excitation
voltages. Within each indicator channel is up to four form C relays, for
alarm and shutdown control. Time delays and push button programmable
settings allow for simple set-up with no false alarms. Indicator lights
on the front of each unit display relay status. Each meter has the
ability to integrate an acceleration signal and display the units in
acceleration, velocity, or displacement on the highly visible, bright
display. The raw vibration signal can be accessed via BNC connections on
the front of the module for easy interface with data collection
equipment. Also available is the capability to retransmit a signal for
straightforward interface with existing PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
Series 684A vibration alarm modules also conform to applicable European
Directives for CE marking. ... |

e2v Unveils New Generation of High
Sensitivity Imaging Sensors with Tracit Technologies |
| |
|
e2v, a leading developer and manufacturer of high-technology
electronic components and subsystems, today announced a new generation
of high-sensitivity imaging sensors leveraging circuit layer transfer
technology from Tracit Technologies, a new division of the Soitec Group.
Combining e2v’s expertise with Tracit’s circuit layer transfer
technology delivers back-illumination capability to medium volume
markets for the first time. This technology produces a dramatic
improvement in sensor sensitivity when compared to a standard
front-illuminated sensor. This makes the new e2v sensor an ideal
solution for a broad range of applications, especially in medium volume,
professional imaging sensor markets. It also complements e2v’s existing
back-illumination capability for low-volume markets like aerospace and
life sciences. “e2v’s new sensor breakthrough is the combined result of
our optimised manufacturing processes and Tracit Technologies’
expertise,” said Jean-Philippe Lamarcq, Imaging Business Unit General
Manager at e2v, Grenoble. “We are proud to be first in the medium volume
professional image sensor market to offer this innovative solution and
see great potential, particularly in small-pixel CMOS sensors,” he
added. “ We are really pleased that Tracit’s circuit transfer
technology, coupled with e2v’s proven expertise, has enabled the
development of a new generation of image sensors from e2v,” ... |

Low cost shear beam load cell from the
famous New Zealander PT Ltd |
| |

The new Low Cost Shear Beam will save you up to 70% of standard cells.
On the basis that the serious OEM scale makers do not want glossy
brochures, expensive individual packaging or non basic additions we have
launched a quality range of load cell Value Packs. The LCSB is available
from 500Kg to 5000Kg.
Value Packs have some specific differences to our standard offering.
The first thing is that they can only be obtained via Internet orders
placed directly from you the customer, they are not available outside
our on-line services. They are supplied in set quantity packs, usually
in packs of 4, 8, and 12 or more, they are only sold in the quantity
packs seen on our on-line services. We have trimmed all the
non-essential fat off these load cells, however you can be sure that
nothing has been trimmed from the actual load cells, they are precision
tested and certified to meet all the exacting requirements on the
downloadable technical specifications form our web site. Each load cell
comes with the standard PT Ltd serial numbered accuracy
certificate and our famous 3 year warranty. ... |
