Industrial Pressure Transmitters for
Highly Corrosive and Aggressive Media |
| |
Sensortechnics’ KTE3000 series is ideally suited for use with
corrosive and aggressive liquids and gases. The media wetted housing
material is manufactured from a highly chemical resistant PPS plastic (Polyphenylensulfide).
The transmitters are based on proven ceramic technology with excellent
media compatibility.
KTE3000 sensors can be calibrated according to individual customer
requirements in the range of 0.5 to 100 bar (7.5 to 1500 psi) with gage,
vacuum or absolute pressure options. Several current or voltage output
signals are available. A G1/4 male thread and a DIN43650 plug are
supplied as standard pressure and electrical connections. Many other
options are possible on customer request. All KTE3000 transmitters are
EMC compliant and CE-marked. |

Two-wire Electronic Vibration Switch
Protects Critical Equipment Without Complicated Set-up |
| |

Synotech: The IMI Sensors Division of PCB® Piezotronics, Inc.
launches the all new 686A Series two-wire electronic vibration switch.
This ground-breaking switch technology is microprocessor controlled with
no moving parts or mechanical adjustments required. The introduction of
the new two-wire switch is revolutionizing the vibration switch market
by combining the reliability and dynamics of an electronic switch with
the convenience of a mechanical switch, in one innovative compact
design. The unique blueprint of the 686A Series includes the (U.S.
patent pending) Magnetic Adjustable Vibration Threshold (MAVT™). This
feature electronically adjusts the threshold value while the switch is
installed on running equipment through a magnetically activated sensor.
This allows for immediate installation and protection with no need for
equipment shutdown. Now, protecting essential equipment such as pumps,
motors, and fans can be reliably ... |

Electricfil Automotive wins PSA PEUGEOT
CITROËN Best Supplier Award |
| |

For the third year in a row, PSA Peugeot Citroën has presented its Best
Supplier Awards. The prizes are given to suppliers committed to working
in partnership with the Group in order to drive greater shared
efficiency, and to those whose performance in 2006 met the Group's high
standards. This year, the awards were presented to 12 suppliers out of a
panel of 800 from all around the world who distinguished themselves in
their relationships with the Group. Nominees in each category were
judged according to the same criteria regardless of their size, from
small and mid-size businesses to multinational firms. Electricfil
Automotive won the "Parts and Services" award for compliance with
delivery deadlines and quantities of replacement parts to the dealer
networks. As a specialist, Electricfil has built its reputation on
technical excellence, the quality of its products and services and its
capacity for innovation," declares Patrick Thollin, President. "We are
extremely pleased when a company like PSA Peugeot Citroën recognizes our
know-how and corporate values, rewarding us for the company's strong
commitments in many fields like service. ... |

In-Process Force Measurement System
Ensures Short Duration Force Signals No Longer an Issue for PLC’s |
| |

Depew, NY, USA –Retrofitting old machines for in-process force
measurement can present many challenges. Some of these include sensor
integration, and high production cycle rates. Sometimes the existing
sensing system or PLC just can’t respond fast enough for reliable
performance. PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has developed an effective
solution for these applications with the new In-Process Force
Measurement system, which consists of a Series M240 ICP® Strain Sensor
and Model 410A01 ICP® signal conditioner, featuring Peak Hold. The Peak
Hold feature of the in-process measurement system allows older PLC
systems to stay in synch with high-speed production cycles. The Model
410A01 ICP® signal conditioner captures and holds the peak reading until
a PLC can scan for the value. A simple solid-state relay resets peak
hold value, ensuring high reliability force measurement for fast machine
cycles. The simple force measurement ... |

Renesas Technology and ZMD to Collaborate
on 900 MHz Band ZigBee® Chipset |
| |
Renesas Technology Corp. and ZMD AG today announced a joint
development agreement enabling Renesas to incorporate ZMD’s RF
technology into Renesas microcontrollers (MCU) to develop a 900-MHz band
ZigBee® chipset. Based on this agreement the two companies will set up a
collaborative development team with the aim of bringing a ZigBee chipset
to market. The resulting advanced chipset is expected to accelerate the
development of various types of IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee systems. The two
companies intend to complete the development work in 2008. ZigBee is a
short-distance wireless communication standard based on IEEE 802.15.4.
It was developed for control systems for automating homes and offices,
communication applications for healthcare equipment or automated
inspection systems, and data transfer between sensors such as detectors
of various types. It is anticipated that IEEE-802.15.4 based solutions,
including ZigBee, will become the dominant short-distance communication
standard in the future. ... |

ZMD goes fabless as X-FAB acquires
ZFOUNDRY |
| |
X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries AG (Erfurt) and ZMD AG (Dresden)
have agreed that X-FAB will take over ZFOUNDRY (ZMD Analog Mixed Signal
Services GmbH & Co. KG), the wafer production facilities of ZMD, located
in Dresden, effective immediately. ZFOUNDRY will be integrated into the
X-FAB Group as a subsidiary of the Erfurt-based X-FAB Semiconductor
Foundries AG. In addition, the companies agreed to maintain close
collaboration long-term regarding wafer manufacture. A wafer delivery
contract ensures that X-FAB will become the principal supplier of
foundry services for ZMD which, in turn, becomes one of the Top 10
customers of the X-FAB Group. Financial details of the deal were not
disclosed. Both companies benefit from this step, which mirrors a trend
in the semiconductor industry to separate circuit design from circuit
manufacture, to gain the cost advantages and other benefits of
specialization. ZMD AG now can focus on its core business – developing
its innovative analog/mixed-signal circuits – while maintaining access
to the premium manufacturing capacity and expertise of the X-FAB Group.
By acquiring ZFOUNDRY, X-FAB continues its successful strategic growth
plan and ... |
