Sensortechnics offers highly reliable air
bubble and air-in-line sensors for critical applications |
| |
|
Sensortechnics introduces the AD8/AD9 series of non-invasive
ultrasonic fluid monitoring sensors. These highly reliable sensors are
ideal for critical applications to detect air or gas bubbles as well as
'end of sample' flowing through small tubing. |
|
|
The AD8/AD9 series are based on a special pulsed ultrasonic technology
which permits highly accurate and repeatable detection with excellent
electrical noise immunity. This non-invasive design, with no contact
between the sensor and the fluid, eliminates all media compatibility and
sterility issues. Detection can be carried out in a large variety of
soft or rigid tubing with diameters from 1.6 mm to 25.4 mm. These
sensors are very compact and feature an integral programmable
micro-controller to allow for custom sensor functionality or specific
algorithms. This enables the AD8/AD9 standard sensor to be optimised to
meet application specific requirements. ... |

New Catalogue on Sensors for Force, Strain, Load, and Torque |
| |
 |
March 7, 2007, Depew, NY, USA – PCB Piezotronics, Inc. (PCB®) has
announced the release of a comprehensive, 200-page product catalog,
entitled, “Sensors for Force, Load, Strain and Torque.” Featured
products include a broad range of ICP® and charge output, piezoelectric
force sensors, TORKDISC® rotary torque sensors and strain-gage load
cells, all with the accuracy and durability to satisfy a wide range of
test, measurement, monitoring and control requirements. |
|
|
Piezoelectric force sensors satisfy dynamic force measurement
applications, such as automotive durability testing, impact, reaction,
materials testing, balancing and manufacturing processes such as
crimping, riveting and stamping. Utilizing rigid quartz sensing
crystals, these sensors possess microsecond response times and the
durability required of repetitive machinery operations. Torque sensors
are offered for reaction as well as rotational torque measurements
utilizing strain gage sensors with non-contact rotary transformer and
digital telemetry signal transmission techniques. These sensors satisfy
automotive chassis dynamometer testing, drive train testing, electric
motor testing and hydraulic pump testing requirements. Load cells are

Epsimetal : Strain sensor |
| |
 |
SCAIME announced the availability of the miniature, digitally
compensated, high level (0-5V) output EPSIMETAL strain sensor. Built-in
strain gage conditioning, adjustable using RS 232 allows high level
signal and temperature compensation on any material. The low stiffness
of the EPSIMETAL provides a large measuring range of 1000 µm/m with a
resolution of 1µm/m in tension or compression. |
|
|
The patented pre-loading principle compensates the strain sensor,
resulting in excellent repeatability and no zero shift. Installation is
possible either by four little screws or by bonding directly to a
surface, using removable mounting plates. These plates can be custom
made to accommodate any specific surface, e.g. a cylinder. Thus, the
EPSIMETAL is re-usable. Typical applications: - Measurement of strains
on die casting machine tie bars - Welding pressure monitoring on welding
guns - Load monitoring on building structures & bridges - Weighing on
trucks and trailers ... |

For modern building control:
Network-compatible „Climate Guard“ determines room climate |
| |
 |
An optimal regulation of indoor climate with regard to energy efficiency
and well-being is becoming more and more important and complex. With
that, the demands on sensors and actors used in buildings are growing.
Therefore, J. Dittrich Elektronic developed the „climate guard“,
a sensor system which is network-compatible. |
|
|
It measures all the important parameters of the indoor climate, namely
relative humidity, temperature, carbon dioxide content and, if desired,
atmospheric pressure. Basic processing and digitalization of the
measuring signals occur in an integrated microprocessor. The protocol
used for the output of the measured values is either Modbus-RTU or
Ethernet-TCP/IP. A wireless transfer of the measured values to the next
network node is also possible using a Bluetooth adapter for the Ethernet
interface. The climate guard is equipped with a very precise but
nevertheless cost-effective infrared measuring system for carbon
dioxide, as this gas is the leading substance for air quality. ... |

LEM introduces cost-effective current
transducer for currents up to 350ARMS in railway applications |
| |
|
LEM has introduced the LAC 300-S, a panel-mounted current
transducer for the measurement of currents up to 350ARMS. This new
closed-loop Hall-effect transducer has been designed for use in railway
applications such as propulsion inverters. |
|
|
It is also well suited to auxiliary inverter requirements (used for air
conditioning, battery chargers…), thanks to its attractive price and
high performance level. This new transducer is only 56 mm high. It
features a wide maximum bandwidth of DC to 50kHz and an overall accuracy
of better than ±0.7 per cent at a primary nominal RMS current of 350A.
Typical linearity error is ±0.1 per cent at 350A and the maximum offset
temperature drift is 500 microamps from -40 to +85˚C. The closed-loop
Hall-effect technology results in no insertion losses and a fast
response time of less than 1 microsecond. ... |

Sensortechnics' New Oxygen Sensors Offer
High Stability and Virtually Unlimited Lifetime |
| |
|
Sensortechnics, a leading supplier of sensing and fluidic control
devices and integrated systems, extends its product range to include a
family of highly reliable miniature oxygen sensors. Sensortechnics'
oxygen sensors are based on a special zirconium dioxide (ZrO2)
technology to enable highly stable and accurate measurements from 0…100
%Vol. oxygen concentration. |
|
|
These sensors are non-consumptive and feature a virtually unlimited
lifetime resulting in an extremely low total cost of ownership for OEM
customers. Easy calibration and functional testing in ambient air is
quickly achieved without the need of a reference gas. The sensors also
show no cross-sensitivity to most other gases. Sensortechnics can easily
modify or custom design oxygen sensors to fit special customer
requirements. Typical applications include oximeters, oxygen
concentrators and conservers, gas detection systems and many other
applications. Sensortechnics' product portfolio extends to a wide range
of sensors and fluid control systems. The product range includes
pressure, level, oxygen, force, and flow sensors as well as miniature
solenoid valves and pumps, electronic pressure controllers and liquid
level switches. Further, Sensortechnics offers a product line of
non-invasive air bubble, air-in-line, liquid level and fluid monitoring
sensors. ... |
