TIDALFLUX for wastewater metering |
| |
|
The TIDALFLUX electromagnetic flowmeter from KROHNE has been
installed in partially filled wastewater inflow pipelines at a
purification plant in Solothurn (Switzerland). The maximum inflow to the
plant is 80 liters per second, which corresponds to the nominal diameter
of the TIDALFLUX’ DN250. TIDALFLUX has proven to be the best solution in
tests using various metering systems, not only providing the broad
measurement range required by the plant operators, but also delivering
the highest levels of measurement accuracy. |
|
|
Since being introduced to the market a few years ago, the TIDALFLUX
system has enjoyed continued popularity as the system of choice for use
in partially filled pipelines. The system is primarily to be found in
wastewater inflows, wastewater outflows, rainwater basins and transfer
stations for third-party dischargers. The electromagnetic flowmeter is
available in nominal diameters ranging from DN 200 to DN 1800 and
features an anti-adhesive IRETHANE liner. The metering system is similar
in design to a conventional electromagnetic flowmeter using two
measuring electrodes, with the addition of a capacitative level
measuring device using a sensor that can determine levels with
millimetric precision - regardless of whether the pipe is full, half
full, or nearly empty. ... |

OPTIFLUX in agriculture |
| |
|
Agricultural contracting companies often encounter problems in relation
to accounting for the services they provide to their customers. The
classic example is that of spreading liquid manure on fields using
slurry tankers. The ability to obtain reliable information about the
amount of liquid manure distributed has long been something that was
missing. KROHNE is proud to present an exciting new solution for
this problem. |
|
|
The OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeter makes it possible to reliably
determine the quantity of slurry spread, allowing the volume in cubic
meters to be accounted for precisely and correctly. With a nominal
diameter of DN80, the OPTIFLUX 1010 ensures that only a specified
quantity of slurry is spread on each hectare of land. The system does
not restrict the cross-section of the pipe, meaning that the measurement
is not affected by the presence of solid material such as straw in the
slurry. A PFA liner is used to guarantee that the system is able to
withstand the harsh environments encountered with this type of
application. ... |

New 4 mm Pressure and Temperature Sensor
With Even Better Response |
| |
|
The world's smallest combined pressure and temperature sensor Type
6189A... with a front diameter of 2.5 mm has been extremely well
received by the injection molding industry. Kistler has now
transferred its advantages to the new sensor Type 6190B… with a front
diameter of 4 mm, whose thermocouple leads are also threaded through the
pressure measuring elements. |
|
|
The new sensor consequently also responds even faster to variations in
temperature. At the same time its pressure elements offer an increased
sensitivity of 9 pC/bar, which is on a par with the standard pressure
sensor Type 6157B.... The new combination comes with a new method of
connection using a cable easily replaced on site. Measurement of the
contact temperature in addition to the cavity pressure yields valuable
process information for optimizing and monitoring injection molding.
Kistler's family of sensors for combined pressure and temperature
acquisition measures both process variables at the same point. The
thermocouple located at the very front of the sensor determine the
direct melt contact temperature. ... |

Omron introduces innovative easy vision
sensor in colour and monochrome |
| |
|
Hoofddorp, The Netherlands – Omron has introduced an innovative
image processing system in a sensor format. Its main benefit is its ease
of use; the ‘teach & go’ concept allows an inspection routine to be
configured in just a few steps using the sensor’s integrated,
high-resolution colour LCD screen and simple menu system. |
|
|
The screen provides live image display during set-up and operation, and
instant feedback during the inspection process. A choice of controllers
provides the tools to perform simple pattern recognition in complex
inspection processes. Use of the new ZFV colour sensor instead of the
conventional monochrome sensor widens the choice of applications and
increases the stability of measurement. Through its automatic colour
filter function, image contrast is increased, making measurements more
reliable. There are seven colour filters in total; the one that obtains
the most suitable contrast is automatically selected, so users do not
need to worry about colour setting parameters. ... |

CoMo Injection Functionality Enhanced |
| |
|
The CoMo Injection process monitoring and documentation system Type
2869A... from Kistler now offers an extended range of functions.
The extra screen pages of the new version 1.1 allow even faster analysis
of the process. The system now also supports all pin and ejector shapes
for indirect measurement of mold cavity pressure. |
|
|
In the course of developing CoMo Injection, Kistler consistently
simplified the entire measuring chain – cavity pressure sensors,
connection methods, electronics and system control – and tailored it to
the full spectrum of injection molding needs. Multi-channel cabling
based on single-wire technology allows connection of up to 8 pressure
sensors with just one cable. CoMo Injection comes equipped with all of
the necessary components for monitoring, analysis and documentation of
the injection molding process and is only offered with the full
complement of functions. ... |

CoMo-MIS – Taking a Close Watch at
Injection Molding Production |
| |
|
CoMo-MIS from Kistler now offers a quick yet comprehensive
overview during the hectic routine of injection molding. This new
database-related manufacturing information system Type 2829A... is
suitable for comprehensive analysis and documentation of production
based on cavity pressure. It operates in conjunction with Kistler's CoMo
Injection monitoring units Type 2869A… and automates the entire flow of
information from process data. |
|
|
CoMo-MIS contains a database in which the production data is archived.
To acquire data it communicates via an Ethernet connection with any
number of CoMos and offers direct access to the individual units. In
addition to the values computed from the process monitoring units,
complete curves can also be stored in the database for analysis. Using a
universal web browser client via the intranet or internet, the user can
access the CoMo-MIS, examine production data and evaluate current
production at any time. CoMo-MIS can be accessed from any type of
networked unit in any location. ... |
