Announcement of LinPicco™
Humidity Modul Serie |
| |
 |
Offering calibration free humidity measurement with high long term
stability. IST AG: The accuracy of the LinPicco ™ BASIC versions
is specified at 3% relative humidity within 15…85 % RH range. |
|
|
The standard linear output signal of 0...1 Volt is corresponding to
0…100% relative humidity.
Further configurations like 0…5 Volt, 10…90% ratiometric and 4…20 mA
current loop are available off the shelf. Technology advantage of the
LinPicco™ approach is to use highly integrated proprietary sensor
electronics while the leading edge sensor chip remains separate. The
LinPicco ™ Basic uses the famous P14SMD capacitive humidity sensor... |

New Platinum Sensor with
minimal Heat Conduction |
| |
 |
Announcement of a new Platinum Sensor. Reduced heat conduction, faster
and more precise temperature measurement. IST AG Switzerland a
leading company in the field of specific thin film sensors complements
theirs sensor range with a further innovation. |
|
|
The heat conduction of the connecting wires of traditional temperature
sensors effects the measurement negatively, which can be depending on
the application. A new IST development for structured nickel flat wire
connections stops this disadvantage. Due to this special structure of
the connections the heat conduction will be reduced to a minimum... |

Multiple point liquid level
measurement |
| |
 |
In a tank or chamber when it is necessary to be kept informed of the
liquid level the measurement accuracy required will reflect the value of
the medium (water vs. liquid gold), the value of the equipment or to
protect the process involved. |
|
|
One solution is to have multiple points sensing, achieved by mounting a
string of single sensors and at a given point, indication of the fluid
level is recorded. The arrangement of these sensors can be either
independently mounted at the side of the tank, or via a single stem
within the chamber with top or bottom entry and having float switch
stations at each stage. Gentech have developed a range of sensors ... |

New Barometric Pressure
Sensors for OEM Applications |
| |
|
Sensortechnics’ new barometric pressure sensors BSDX-BARO offer
OEM customers very cost-effective and precise air pressure measurement
in the range of 800…1100 mbar absolute. Other measuring ranges are also
available on customer request. |
|
|
BSDX-BARO pressure sensors are calibrated and temperature compensated
from 0…85 C and reach an overall accuracy of ±1 %FSS (including
temperature effects). These devices feature an analogue 0.5…4.5 V output
signal or, alternatively, a digital I2C-bus interface. The BSDX-BARO
sensors incorporate the latest ASIC technologies to enable a high
specification in small DIP-packages. Therefore they are especially
suitable for space-saving PCB-mounting. |

MAZeT Presents First "Lead-Free"
Cards |
| |
 |
Jena Electronics Firm dominates RoHS-compliant Development, Production
and Repair of Components. With its group of components for mobile
Embedded Computing applications, MAZeT GmbH, the leading company
for electronic developments, ASICs and sensors, presents a development
in parts based entirely on "lead-free" components and production. |
|
|
This client-specific development displays MAZeT's know-how one year
before the introduction of rules regarding RoHS compliance (RoHS:
Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electric and
Electronic Equipment). With extensive in-house tests and highly
intensive and well-adapted co-operation with the supplier company, MAZeT
has defined the necessary logistical process providing the definitive
conditions for lead-free production. ... |

Capacitec receives the 2002 Army
SBIR PHASE II Quality award for mulit-parameter snow sounding probe |
| |
 |
US avalanche
fatalities have increased threefold in the past ten years as more people
pursue winter adventures and put themselves in harms way. More people
are being buried alive than in any other period in history. Capacitec
has developed a Snow Sounding Probe which works in conjunction with
traditional avalanche forecasting methods to help Snow Scientists in
their ongoing battle to accurately predict snow slides. |
|
|
The system includes a penetration probe containing density, depth and
temperature sensors that feed signals into a Palm Pilot. Stored in a
backpack the system allows Rangers, DOT personnel and Snow Scientists to
better understand the science of snow, improve logistics and reduce loss
of life due to avalanches. The System received the 2002 Army SBIR Phase
II Quality Award from the U.S Army Research Laboratory. ... |

Very Accurate Flow
Measurement in partially and full filled Pipes and Channels... |
| |
 |
The Nivus OCM Pro stands out with a high accurate flow velocity
determination. The measured velocities can be accurately allocated
spatially and are displayed on a large backlit display. This makes it
easy to hydraulically assess the selected measurement place and critical
applications are recognized or avoided even by an inexperienced user. |
|
|
The system operates with a high velocity resolution. Even lowest medium
movements within a range of a few mm/s are recognized and evaluated
safely in contrast to common magnetic inductive systems. Depending on
the channel geometry measurement dynamics up to 1 : 10 000 at partial
filling are possible. The OCM Pro is based on ultrasonics. Thus, it is
independent of medium conductivity or electrode covering by oil films or
bacteria coating.... |

LEM introduces current
transducers for earth leakage control |
| |
 |
LEM has introduced the CT family of current
transducers for use in a range of safety applications including solar
installations. The new transducers measure an AC or DC leakage current
of 30mA or more (with possible spectral components up to 18 kHz)
occurring when a solar panel is coupled to an earthed grid, or in
failure modes such as a short circuit or earth fault. |
|
|
The connection of a solar panel to the grid raises
concerns about the safety of the system and of any human contact with
the system.
These differential current transducers have been specifically designed
to meet the needs of modern solar topologies. They are PCB mountable,
small (30 L x 30 H x 20 W mm), lightweight (25 g) components with an 11
mm diameter aperture for insertion of earth leakage wires. ... |

H 250: The only EHEDG-approved
variable-area flowmeter |
| |
 |
KROHNE developed the H 250 Food variable-area flowmeter
specifically for the food industry. It is the only variable-area
flowmeter certified by the EHEDG. Typical applications for the H 250
include measuring milk, carbon dioxide, alcohol, or saturated steam.
With more than two million units installed worldwide, the H 250 has
become the industry standard for variable-area flowmeters. |
|
|
The outstanding characteristics of the H 250 Food include a surface
roughness of less than 0.8µm, crevice-free design, compatibility with
CIP and SIP cleaning up to 150°C (302°F), and a range of hygienic
connectors. Wetted parts are available in Hastelloy or stainless steel.
The H 250 is designed for flow rates of 2.5 – 100,000 l/h ... |
