ICAM: Versatile Generalist among
Industrial Charge Amplifiers |
| |
|
One of the characterizing features of piezoelectric measurement is that
a single sensor has a range extending over several powers of ten. It
achieves the same high precision in each of these decades. The new ICAM
Type 5073A… charge amplifier supports this very advantage. |
|
|
With just one system measuring chains with the ICAM and piezoelectric
sensors can measure over six decades – for example from the smallest
structural changes in the nano range to enormous press forces. Thus for
these measurements from a few newtons to 250 kN with the same measuring
chain charge amplifiers with a measuring range of at least 100 to 1 000
000 pC are necessary. Practically all measuring ranges can be set on the
new ICAM industrial charge amplifier thanks to its built-in electronics
and computer interface. The ICAM thus adapts for any measuring task with
just one sensor. With the ICAM the sensitivity can be taken from the
data sheet or the calibration, and the maximum measuring range set in
mechanical units with the parameters. The ICAM is suitable for use with
almost all piezoelectric sensors ... |

World first for perpetual source of power |
| |
|
Perpetuum¹s vibration energy harvesting microgenerator is an enabling
technology that makes wireless, battery-free sensors a reality.
Perpetuum has launched the world¹s first truly effective vibration
energy harvester to power wireless and battery-free devices capable of
sending large amounts of data from many types of industrial equipment. |
|
|
The PMG7 high-performance microgenerator enables users to power sensors,
microprocessors and transmitters for accurately monitoring the condition
of plant equipment and machinery without the need for batteries,
expensive cabling or maintenance. The easy-to-install solution is now
available to OEMs, sensor manufacturers and end-users in all industries,
allowing them to make significant cost savings. The microgenerator
converts kinetic energy from the vibration of the equipment running at
mains frequency (50 or 60Hz) into electrical energy. It can generate up
to 5mW which is enough to power a wireless transmitter sending up to
6Kbytes of critical data every few minutes, or smaller amounts of data -
such as a temperature reading - several times a second. It is a
practical device which can operate in most industrial environments and
at minimal vibration levels (25mg). ... |

A New Addition to the Kistler Family of
RoaDyn® Measuring Wheels |
| |
|
In response to demand from Asian vehicle manufacturers, the Kistler
RoaDyn S625 series of 6-component measuring wheels has been extended by
a new version for 12” and 13” inch rims. The measuring wheel is
manufactured from high-strength aluminum construction units. |
|
|
Components from carbon fiber composite materials help to arrange the
mass and the moments of inertia as realistic as possible. This ensures
that mass effects have only a minimal impact on the driving behavior of
the car and that the measuring results are not distorted. Particularly
for small and lightweight cars, this is a crucial issue that constituted
one of the most important development tasks. Thanks to modular design,
the new measuring wheel is fully compatible with the other measuring
wheels of RoaDyn System 2000. Signal detection is by means of
replaceable 3-component strain gauge load cells, which are calibrated
separately to ensure optimum serviceability. The intelligent TEDS
functionality helps to prevent operating failures and maximizes ease of
operation. The measuring wheel is controlled ... |

Using the latest portable Flow Measurement
Technology |
| |
 |
Cross correlation method with triple redundant level measurement for
reliable, high accurate and comfortable measurement of extraneous water,
wastewater, sludges and chemically polluted water from nightly discharge
up to flood. In many cases, users are facing almost unsolvable problems
when it comes to choose and to use portable flow measurement technology. |
|
|
Many times media with pollution loads such as sludge, solids, fibres and
grease have to be measured without the risk of measurement failures as
well as clear water from influents or ground water intruding the channel
system. Additionally, there is very often an extreme discharge behaviour,
ranging from volumes tending to zero up to pressurized discharge or
backwater within the sewer system. The measurement methods used until
now (magnetic-inductive methods, Doppler sensors and similar) very often
did not meet these requirements. This is why faulty measurement results
or even measurement failures occured. ... |
