Fatigue Rated Pancake Load Cell can now
be provided in 2 mV/V output |

 FUTEK
Advanced Sensor Technology, Inc can now provide its fatigue rated
version of Pancake Load Cells LCF700 in 2.0 mV/V output: LCF701 Fatigue
Rated Pancake Load Cell. FUTEK can also provide this model with a
tension base. These load cells are primarily used in inline applications
on actuators or threaded assembles. FUTEK currently carries these models
in 1.0 mV/V output as a standard but can provide the new 2.0 mV/V output
per request. Engineering Manager, Richard Walker commented that “FUTEK
plans on phasing out the 1.0 mV/V standards over the next 18 months
making the 2.0 mV/V output a standard.” In addition to the high output,
the noted Pancake Load Cells are built for a long fatigue cycles.
Capacity options will be limited to 200,000 lbs utilizing a stainless
steel structure making them more suitable for harsh environments.
Options for amplified version and threading for both Standard and Metric
are also available. FUTEK also provides a Standard Calibration Service
in Compression (free of charge) for these Pancake Load Cells per NIST
Traceable Standards. A NIST traceable calibration certificate for the
product will be issued. The certificate will then be accessible for
review online 24/7 using the sensor ID#. FUTEK has an ISO17025:2005 A2LA
accredited laboratory that can also provide additional calibration
options such as a complete System Calibration (if an instrument is
selected with the Pancake Load Cell). By selecting the system

New fork and angle sensors |

 Sensor
specialist and connectivity provider Balluff has completely
revamped their comprehensive line of fork and angle sensors. Now
available to the use is an expanded product range including four
distinct product lines. In addition to two performance-enhanced product
lines with highly visible red light for standard applications and highly
focused laser light for small parts detection with a resolution of down
to 50 mm, sensors are now available with a pin-point LED using
especially homogenous red light for exact positioning tasks plus a
family using infrared light for applications in dusty environments. The
compact processing circuitry is housed in a rugged, IP 67 rated metal
enclosure. The sensing face of the sensor as well as the operator panel
– consisting of an LED function indicator and two potentiometers – are
integrated flush with the housing to protect from damage. Depending on
the model these sensors offer a high switching frequency of 3 or 5 KHz
and are available with NPN or PNP output. Startup is simple and
practical. All that is needed is a common screwdriver to set light-on or
dark-on switching using a potentiometer and setting the desired

 Leuze:
In high-bay warehouses, protection against accidental push-through of
pallets is generally provided by mechanical solutions involving
elaborate steel constructions. With its ODS 96B optical distance
sensors, Leuze electronic is offering a more economical and technically
superior solution to address this important safety requirement. Not only
is the effort and expense involved in equipping each individual rack
compartment with an effective mechanical push-through safeguard
enormous, but the impact generated by dynamic loading processes exerts a
negative influence on the rack system itself. This can be prevented
initially by providing a compartment occupied check using suitable
sensor systems, which monitors whether storage surfaces really are
unoccupied, so preventing pallets already in place from being pushed
backwards and dropping out of the rack. However, an additional and
urgent problem situation is created by pallets which are skewed or
offset. During highly dynamic operating processes, system-specific
tolerances can be quickly exceeded, resulting in the forks of the rack
handling system displacing already positioned pallets when performing
inward and outward movements – with potentially disastrous consequences.

BMF binary switching, magnetic field sensitive electronic cylinder
switches from Balluff impress with their flexibility. Positions
can be detected on virtually any pneumatic cylinder or gripper. With the
new BMF 204K the sensor specialists have now completed their line of
magnetic field sensors with a special version optimized for C-slots.
Flush mountable with the an unmatched length of just 20 mm, it
disappears in the C-slot without protruding. This makes it ideal for use
in short stroke cylinders, mini-grippers and other space-critical
applications. And as an especially economical solution, the new cylinder
switch costs hardly more than a conventional reed sensor. The holding
element is already integrated into the cylinder switch, making
installation and adjustment quite simple: Slide the sensor into the
slot, position, turn a screw to tighten, and you’re done! This new

Kavlico Develops Urea-Dosing Sensor for
Heavy Duty Truck Applications |

 Kavlico,
a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) and an
operation of Schneider Electric, is pleased to announce the development
of their new sensor for urea-air dosing utilizing (AUS32) Aqueous Urea
Solution 32.5% or AdBlue™ in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
after-treatment systems with diesel engines. This (AUS32) solution is
high purity urea in de-mineralized water that is clear, non-toxic, and
safe to handle. Kavlico’s urea-dosing sensor generates an output used to
provide feedback to the SCR system to assist in optimizing the reduction
of NOx emissions by monitoring the SCR system and helping to determine
the appropriate amount of AdBlue reducing agent to be delivered to the
catalytic converter module. AdBlue is carried on-board SCR-equipped
trucks and buses in specially designed tanks and it is dosed into the
SCR system at a rate equivalent to 3-5% of diesel consumption. The low
dosing rate ensures long refill periods and minimizes the tank’s impact
on chassis space. Currently used throughout Europe, Japan, Australia,
Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, and Singapore in on-highway SCR
systems, urea dosing will become prevalent in North America due to
