 The
new BOD 21M laser distance sensor from Balluff in the rugged
metal housing expands the product family of photoelectric distance
sensors for space-critical applications and increases their measuring
range to 500 mm. Broad functionality and modern sensor technology with
ease of handling make it the ideal choice for applications in robotics
and automation, assembly and handling as well as the packaging and wood
processing industry. The BOD 21M is available in three versions with
working ranges of from 20 to 45 mm, 20 to 200 mm and 20 to 500 mm. The
sensor has a Laser Class 2 rating, allowing it to be used with no
special safety precautions. The BOD 21M provides a continuous voltage or
current signal from 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA which is proportional to the
object distance and which can be set to the required range within the
overall working distance. Two digital switching outputs are also
provided. Fast setup and intuitive operation with broad functionality
ensure high efficiency. Measuring ranges and switching points are simple
to program using a rotary switch, and the material composition or color

ManuWare user interface shows connected instruments, instrument status
and test measurement curves at a glance. The latest generation of
Kistler transmitters (press force transmitter Type 9337A... and
strain transmitter Type 9238A...) is equipped with a serial computer
interface as standard. They can be fully parameterized quickly and
easily using the PC program ManuWare. The proven industrial charge
amplifier ICAM Type 5073A... is also supported by ManuWare. After
connection to the PC, ManuWare recognizes sensors or charge amplifiers
using an AutoScan function and lists them in the program. The status of
recognized devices is shown at a glance. Instrument groups can be
structured as one single project. Parameter configuration is performed
intuitively through device-specific dialogs. A graphical display of the
test measurements and auxiliary functions for scaling indirect
measurement help the user set up force measurement applications. The
number of simultaneously supported measuring channels is only limited by
the power of the computer being used.The settings of the fully

sensors, has launched its most configurable rotary sensor, the SRH500P.
The factory programmable sensor, for use in extreme environments, gives
OEMs a wide selection of parameters so the sensor can be configured to
suit their individual needs. Based on non-contact Hall effect technology
it can operate in high dither vibration conditions with no deterioration
of the sensing element. It is resistant to shock and vibration which
makes it ideal for many position monitoring applications on off-highway
vehicles. These include steering position, suspension position and lift
system position on municipal, agricultural and construction vehicles.
The sensor operates from either a 5Vdc regulated or 9-30Vdc unregulated
power supply and can be supplied programmed with any one of 341

belonging to the Kuwait Oil Company with a total of 432 H250 variable
area flowmeters. The devices will be used for dosing and monitoring the

the new generation of line sensors PosCon and ParCon from Baumer,
the edges of paper webs can be controlled more accurately, positions of
wires determined more exactly or the width of a plastic profile at the
outlet of an extruder measured more accurately. The sensor detects the
edges of the objects along a narrow measuring line with a resolution of
up to 0,03 mm. Depending on the mode, these edges are assessed
differently, and the result can then be issued as an analog value
(4...20 mA). In this way, edge positions within the measuring range can
be accurately determined, object widths measured or objects positioned
according to the center of the object. As the sensors operate by the
retro-reflection principle, they detect objects regardless of their
