Automatic defect inspection of reflecting
surfaces |
| |
The
reflectCONTROL range of surface inspection systems from Micro-Epsilon
has now been extended with new product variants. The RC-Robotic system
is intended for large objects such as complete automotive body shells.
Here, the optical part of the measurement system as a sensor is located
on the end effector of a robot arm. A measurement process covers an area
of approx. 70 x 30 cm; the robot moves the sensor to different positions
on the object to be inspected. The RC-Compact inspection system with
fixed sensor is available for smaller measuring objects and is ideal for
laboratory type inspection. The object to be inspected can be moved with
a measuring table that itself can move on three axes and can be tilted
for curved surfaces in order to inspect the complete object. The
measurement of such a part requires around 10 to 30 seconds and can be
automated for series production. This is achieved by generating a
typical measuring task in which the sensor moves to stored measurement
positions ... |

HBM miniature force transducer controls
assembly processes |
| |
HBM’s
new PACEline force transducer family provides measurement ranges from
5-120kN for reliable integrated force measurement especially where space
is a constraint. Where using uncalibrated force washers has only been
possible so far, transducers of the PACEline family can now be used. The
flange mounted transducers eliminate the need for preloading and thus
for additional calibration of the system as a whole. Every transducer is
available with two calibrated measurement ranges - 20% and 100% of
nominal force. This eliminates the need to use many different transducer
types, because multiple measurement tasks can be implemented using a
single type of transducer. The size of piezo sensors from the PACEline
series is 3% of that of other sensor technologies. The sensors measure
at consistent accuracy over many decades. A balanced, industrial charge
amplifier is used for signal conditioning to +/-10V analog standard
signals. For industrial applications, the charge amplifier provides TEDS,
electrically isolated inputs, and electrical isolation of measurement
signal and supply voltage. ... |

| |
Gantner
Instruments: The automation of test procedures is a daily challenge
for planers and operators of component test stands. The new e.pac DL of
Gantner Instruments communicates with the measuring and I/O-modules and
read so measuring values, states and other process values, allocates,
combines, evaluates, transmits and gives analogue or digital signals
back to the process back to recording. New is also, that the new
programmable automation controller e.pac DL offers a memory for 32 Mio
measurements that can be extended via an external HDD via USB in an
almost infinitive way. Furthermore various possibilities of
communication, e. g. eMail, GPRS, VPN are available. The measured and
conditioned data with different rates and trigger functions will be
stored in the 128 kByte data memory in independent archives. The data
acquisition in the modules and the PAC happens synchronized with 1 kHz.
The open data structure offers totally integration into automation
systems, access to all parameters and variables (FTP-functionality) ... |

IO-Link sensors - innovation with true
value added! |
| |
Baumer
Electric: IO-Link is the new standard in the lower communication
layer supported by leading automation and sensor manufacturers. An
IO-Link sensor transmits standard digital or analog output signals and
provides an additional serial data communication with the control unit
as master to exchange parameters such as the measuring range,
sensitivity, time delay and operating mode. Because the serial data
transmission needs no additional wires and the output signals are
compatible, it is possible to use standard cables and connectors and
combine or mix IO-Link devices and standard devices. This advantage
simplifies the entry, realization and use of this new and easy
technology. Baumer offers now an expanded range of IO-Link products.
From the smallest optical switches up to ultrasonic and inductive
distance sensors, a wide variety of technologies and devices is
available. ... |
